The Dark Chocolate covered Lonzetta di Fico  are an extremely special dessert: a jewel of the Marche tradition enhanced by an exquisite dark chocolate glaze. A unique product made with sweet figs, almonds, walnuts, rum and anise, all ground and wrapped in chocolate glaze shaped into pralines. A true delicacy perfect to be combined with a tablespoon of Sapa and a Passito sweet wine, for an end meal by real demanding people.

Classic recipe of the rural tradition of the Marche, made with dried figs after the harvest in late September, mixed with other ingredients such as almonds, walnuts, rum and anise, to form a dough that is wrapped in chocolate as pralines. The orginal dessert is the result of local tradition, when in the Marche countryside, particularly in Vallesina, figs were cultivated in abundance, often maturing at the same time, just before the harvest, they had to be collected and stored to last through the winter. It is an idea of Cioccolateria Mencarelli to propose this praline.

Starting from Castelplanio, in the heart of the Alta Vallesina Valley, Paolo Mencarelli and has looked for the best cocoa beans, which comes from South America and Madagascar, and refining his technique of chocolate maker, managed to create a new combinations and unexpected interpretations; he has made fine pralines and confectionery specialties made from pure chocolate, improving with Mediterranean flavours the chocolate tradition of the Marche.

Ingredients: dried figs (62%), cocoa paste, cooked must, almonds, walnut, sugar, cocoa butter, aniseed, rum, aniseed liqueur, emulsifier: soy lecithin, vanilla extract.
