A small town of the Province of Macerata, Serrapetrona is located between beautiful forests and Lake Borgia, more commonly known as Lake of Caccamo. Its name comes from a rich and valiant Roman citizen, a certain Petronius, who took refuge here after escaping from Rome. The medieval town, with its double walls, it's really delicious and a walk through its narrow streets will make you literally take a step back in time. Real gastronomic treasures, including excellent meats and the famous Vernaccia wine produced from the grape variety native cultivated since ancient times, are typical of Serrapetrona.
