Alteta di Montegiorgio

Alteta di Montegiorgio

Set among the beautiful hills of Fermo, Alteta is a small village in the municipality of Montegiorgio which has just over 250 souls, but which can boast an illustrious past. Was an independent municipality until 1869, retains its medieval structure and offers splendid views. Built on top of a hill, the castle has a polygonal wall which follows the shape of the plateau, with a single access, within which are located several public and religious buildings, including the impressive Piazza XXV Aprile. Alteta offers specialties for all gourmets: food and wine fairs and festivals, incredible variety and goodness, will be featured. In the surrounding area, in the midst of rolling hills and green meadows, there are many farms and ranches, which provide products of unsurpassed quality, such as cured meats that are made in the area, still loyal to the old tradition pork processing, the so-called "salata". Among these we could not choose which ones of Country Pig, Azienda Agricola Bastianelli, true masters of cold meats.
