Appignano

Appignano

"One of the smallest municipalities in the province of Macerata, Appgnano is a charming town located in the heart of Marche, between gentle slopes and rolling hills. Its origins are very old and date back to the Romans. The village assumed considerable importance due to the production of a well-known ceramic potter that artisans have perpetuated over the centuries to the present day. In addition to the old town s also worth visiting the monastery of Forano, dating back to the XXIII century and known for having hosted St. Francis of Assisi. Among the various initiatives dedicated to wine there are two events: the traditional summer dinner, dedicated to one of the most famous people in the history of Appignano, Bellente the Brigand and Leguminaria, culinary exhibition dedicated to early autumn legumes: beans, chickpea, cicerchia, lentil and roveja, prepared according to old recipes of traditional country and served in earthenware bowls made by artisans of the city. It is just to discover the most special and precious legumes of our land that Tasting Marche came to Appignano, to visit Azienda Agricola Nazareno Medei, to rediscover cicerchia, chickpeas and beans of the highest quality.
