This is a product that is truly special. The Lonzetta di Fico is an extremely special dessert, a jewel of the Marche tradition with a long history behind it. A unique product made with sweet figs, almonds, walnuts, rum and anise, all ground and wrapped in fig leaves (or food wrapping paper) and shaped into a characteristic form as Lonza. A true delicacy perfect to be combined with a tablespoon of Sapa and a Passito sweet wine, for an end meal by real gourmets.

Classic recipe of the rural tradition of the Marche, made with dried figs after the harvest in late September, mixed with other ingredients such as almonds, walnuts, rum and anise, to form a dough that is wrapped in fig leaves, so take the characteristic shape of Lonza. This dessert is the result of local tradition, when in the Marche countryside, particularly in Vallesina, figs were cultivated in abundance, often maturing at the same time, just before the harvest, they had to be collected and stored to last through the winter.

How to eat: Cut the Lonzino di Fico into slices not too thin and consume it in the manner you prefer. Once opened, it should be kept in the refrigerator.
