The Tortiglione Dates and Raisins is an original dessert that was present on the tables of the Renaissance Banquets on occasions of great celebrations. They were sweet loaves, with long leavening, enriched with spices, dried, dehydrated, caramelized, or candied fruit, with different shapes and well decorated. Rinascimento a Tavola has decided to propose it again as a Christmas dessert, in two versions that well bring back to the palate the taste and ancient flavor of court parties.

The Tortiglione Dates and Raisins of Rinascimento a Tavola is prepared with excellent quality raw materials for the base of the dough and with the presence of dates, raisins and the unmistakable hint of cinnamon that gives this product a pleasant antique taste. It is a dessert with character, without losing the delicacy and harmony required to a leavened product. Try both this and the version with figs and sugared ginger.

Located in Urbino, one of the cradles of the Italian Renaissance, on the hills of the Southern area of Montefeltro, this laboratory of excellence contains a synthesis of culinary excellence of the Italian Renaissance courts, through the use of specific techniques for the preparation and culinary and symbolic references. Today, as in the ducal court of five hundred years ago, the excellence guides the protagonists of this small entrepreneurial story, constantly searching evidence of the past with the aim at satisfing the most discerning palates. 

Ingredients: Soft wheat flour type 0, Fruit 33% (of which 16,5% Dates and 16,5% sultanas), butter,  fresh egg yolks, sugar, natural yeast (soft wheat flour type 0, water), honey, salt, pepper, cinnamon, lemon and orange peel. It may contain traces of milk and soy

Tortiglione Dates and Raisins does not need special preparation other than the foresight to be served, depending on the occasion, in the most suitable and captivating tray. Being baked without preservatives, once opened it is advisable to consume it within a few days, to savor the characteristics of the product. It can be offered on various occasions both after the meal as a dessert and to accompany snacks or breakfasts. It is recommended to keep it in a cool place away from heat sources.
