On top of a hill between the valleys of the river Chienti and Cremone is the town of Corridonia, originated from the ancient Roman city of Pausolae. From Roman times to the Middle Ages changed its name several times, passing through "Mons Ulmi" and only in the last century, in honour of the hero Filippo Corridoni, took on its current name.
