The beautiful town of Tolentino is located along the valley of the Chieti river, in the province of Macerata. Since prehistoric times many populations used to establish privileged settlement in this area due to the proximity with the river. There are a lot of examples of the city's leading role in history as there are so many reasons to come and visit its beautiful city center and its surroundings. Do not miss the Basilica of St. Nicola, with the fresco painting made by Giotto’s pupils, it will take your breth away; the main square, the Clock Tower and the mysterious Devil's Bridge. A few kilometers far away from the center area it is worth to visit the spectacular Rancia Castle and the beautiful reservoir of Abbadia di Fiastra.
In Tolentino you could come several times, there are many opportunities for you to spent a pleasant day. Religious events, such as St. Nicholas’s day in September, the hystorical re-enactment of the Rancia’s battle in May, and many other events organized by the local vibrant Pro Loco. Tasting Marche especially loves this city and we usually came here to introduce you to a real artist, the special one hidden inside the Pasticceria Mimosa: Roberto Cantolacqua. Its sweet creations are a temptations for gourmands around the world.
