Santa Maria Nuova
The small town of Santa Maria Nuova is located in the middle of the province of Ancona, in a specific area characterized by the large presence of gullies, which was linked to the ancient name of the town: Santa Maria della Ripe. Despite the ancient Roman remains, it was during the medieval era that the town acquired its importance, even if it was, for a long time, under the influence and the control of Jesi. In addition to the Roman ruins in "Pietrolone" it’s worth to discover the little old town, with a promenade along the City Wall, and a visit to its old churches. Visiting the surroundings of Jesi is pleasant to explore the small town of Santa Maria Nuova, also for this reason it’s worth to attend one of the events organized by the local Pro Loco. Tasting Marches was attracted by something else, following the exciting scent of fruit and chocolate. In fact in this small town the candied fruit master and chocolatier Riccardo Pelagagge creates his products that are essential for gluttons. The company Pierre Dolce al Cuore, of which Riccardo is the founder, is a pleasant surprise from many points of view: the enthusiasm of Riccardo, the smile of his wife Nicoletta and then sweet candied fruits, fragrant juices, delicious jams and flood of cocoa and chocolate, how could you not love him?
